Product Care

Many of our garments use delicate hand woven fabrics and natural dyes along with hand block printing - while this renders a timeless, vintage feel to the garment, a little bit of additional care can go a long way to preserving the garment.

1 - Masks

The masks use mill made organic cotton and are dyed using floral and herbal extracts - these dyes have a lower wash/rubbing fastness when compared with synthetic dyes and hence it is recommended to handwash these garments in cold water with a mild detergent. Also, the dyes have poorer light fastness than synthetic dyes and should be dried in shade.

  • do not pre-soak
  • handwash separately
  • use cold water
  • do not use bleach
  • use mild detergent
  • do not wring
  • dry in shade
  • 2 - Cotton Indigo Garments

Indigo dyed garments have rich shades and a nostalgia about them but the Indigo dye has poor wash/rubbing fastness and poor light fastness and must be cared for accordingly. We pre-wash all Indigo garments - but we recommend that the user wash it again before use. It must be washed separately and in cold water with a mild detergent and dried in shade.

  • 3 - Linen, Silk and Silk blended Indigo garments.

Silk and silk blended Indigo garments have better wash/rubbing fastness than cotton but must be dry cleaned because of fabric restrictions.

    Recommended care

    • dry clean

    4 - Other Mineral Dyes

Dyes other than Indigo have slightly better wash/rubbing performance and do not need intensive care as Indigo but must still be handwashed in cold water and with mild detergent.

  • 5 - Synthetic Dyes

These are the simplest to care for - we try to make them interesting with stitch details and hand embellishments - each garment must be cared for accordingly but mostly as per base fabric.
